The family Retreat Experience
Dear Prayer Partners,
We are excited to share with you the recently concluded Joni and Friends Family Retreat, held in Ghana.
The Joni and Friends Family Retreat is designed to create a rich, Christ-centered environment where every family especially those caring for persons with disabilities is welcomed, valued, and embraced. Each person is an image-bearer of God, worthy of dignity, honor, and love. The retreat was held from December 8–14 2025, and our team from Nigeria had the privilege of traveling to Ghana to participate in and support this impactful gathering.
We are deeply grateful for the encouraging turnout. Participants were warmly welcomed and enjoyed times of devotion, games, crafts, and fellowship, as well as practical training sessions, including personal hygiene and care-giving skills. Parents and caregivers shared how refreshing and empowering the experience was, as they learnt better ways to love, care for, and support their family members with special needs.
The retreat concluded with a thanksgiving service, as we gathered to thank God for His faithfulness.
Looking ahead, we are excited to share that plans are underway to host a Family Retreat in Nigeria in August 2026.
As we prepare for this next step, we kindly ask you to join us in prayer for the following:
- That all participants from the Ghana retreat will faithfully apply what they learned in their homes and communities
- For wisdom, provision, and smooth preparations for the upcoming retreat in Nigeria
- That God will continue to touch, strengthen, and encourage every family served through this ministry
